<p>Artisense GmbH (hereafter “Artisense”), a group company of Kudan Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO Daiu Ko, hereafter “Kudan”) is excited to share its participation as an exhibitor in the upcoming <a href="https://automatica-munich.com/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">automatica 2022</a> event happening 21-24 June at the Trade Fair Center Messe in Munich, Germany.</p>
<p>The Artisense booth can be found at munich_i’s platform within the AI.Society pavilion in Hall B4. The munich_i is a joint project of Messe München, automatica and the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) of the <a href="https://www.tum.de/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Technical University of Munich</a> (TUM).</p>
<p>On top of ongoing demo’s at the Artisense booth which will be featuring both camera-based and 3D lidar-based Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) from the two companies, there will also be guided tours happening twice a day. For a deeper insight into our solutions, Artisense will also be participating in a demo pitch which will happen on Friday, 24 June.<br />
We invite all to come view and learn more about our direct visual SLAM, feature-based visual SLAM, and 3D-lidar SLAM which enable autonomy within the robotics and automotive industries.</p>

<p>As a leader in the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) industry, Kudan exhibited at its booth, a demonstration of its indirect and direct visual SLAM offering as well as its 3D Lidar SLAM solution.</p>

<p>These real-time displays allowed participants to visually experience the capabilities and achievable accuracy of our systems firsthand. On one cart we had presented visual SLAM which is able to infer a pose from camera input. The other cart featured KdLidar, Kudan’s 3D-Lidar based SLAM. KdLidar is robust against scenery changes and dynamic objects while it is compatible with many 3D-Lidar models including both spinning lidar and solid state lidar. The KdLidar demonstration showcased our ability to move through the environment while tracking our position and creating a dense point cloud of the scene.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prof. Daniel Cremers is Chief Scientific Officer of Artisense Corporation (hereafter “Artisense”), Kudan’s group company, and the Chair of Computer Vision &amp; Artificial Intelligence at Technical University of Munich (TUM). He participated in a workshop &#8220;Visual Odometry &amp; Computer Vision Applications Based on Location Clues (VOCVALC)&#8221; held at this year&#8217;s CVPR (Computer Vision &amp; Pattern Recognition), which is the most active and prestigious conference in the computer vision sector together with ICCV (International Conference on Computer Vision). He delivered a presentation titled &#8220;Visual SLAM in the Age of Self-Supervised Learning.&#8221;</p>

<p>Prof. Cremers delivered the latest advancement in the area of Direct Visual SLAM, which is Aritsense&#8217;s core technology, and gives strong differentiation factors to them compared to other conventional Indirect Visual SLAM. This presentation revealed several approaches TUM and Artisense have been working on using deep learning to solve recurring problems in localization for automotive and robotics.</p>
<p>Kudan and Artisense will leverage these research findings and insights to maintain our competitive edge in commercial SLAM applications.</p>
