Prof. Daniel Cremers, Chief Scientific Officer of Artisense delivered a presentation on his latest researches in one of the most recognized academic conferences in the computer vision area

Prof. Daniel Cremers is Chief Scientific Officer of Artisense Corporation (hereafter “Artisense”), Kudan’s group company, and the Chair of Computer Vision & Artificial Intelligence at Technical University of Munich (TUM). He participated in a workshop “Visual Odometry & Computer Vision Applications Based on Location Clues (VOCVALC)” held at this year’s CVPR (Computer Vision & Pattern Recognition), which is the most active and prestigious conference in the computer vision sector together with ICCV (International Conference on Computer Vision). He delivered a presentation titled “Visual SLAM in the Age of Self-Supervised Learning.”

Prof. Cremers delivered the latest advancement in the area of Direct Visual SLAM, which is Aritsense’s core technology, and gives strong differentiation factors to them compared to other conventional Indirect Visual SLAM. This presentation revealed several approaches TUM and Artisense have been working on using deep learning to solve recurring problems in localization for automotive and robotics.
