Kudan Joins the NVIDIA Partner Network to Expand SLAM Opportunities for Embedded Edge Computing
03.15.2021
Kudan Inc. (headquarters in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO Daiu Ko, hereafter “Kudan”), a leading provider of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM)※ solutions across multiple industries and applications, has announced that it has joined the NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN) as an Embedded Edge Preferred Professional Services Delivery Partner.
Artisense Corporation (hereafter “Artisense”), a Kudan Group company, provides Direct Visual SLAM software powered by a development kit built around the NVIDIA® Jetson™ AGX Xavier system-on-module to accelerate the demanding visual processing workloads required and shorten the development time for customers building and deploying robotics, AIoT, automotive, and industrial edge AI applications.
The NPN program is designed to help partners expand the usage of NVIDIA-based solutions, platforms, and technologies, and provide end customers with a world-class solution and support experience. The program will increase the awareness and reach of the SLAM software of Kudan and Artisense and expand partnership opportunities throughout NVIDIA’s customer and partner base.
“We look forward to our partnership with NVIDIA to further provide our GPU-powered state-of-the-art SLAM software for robotics and automotive products requiring precise, accurate, and reliable point cloud and position information,” said Daiu Ko, CEO at Kudan and Artisense.
“As a member of the NVIDIA Partner Network, Kudan and Artisense can help customers integrate state-of-the-art SLAM algorithms within their products that leverage the powerful embedded computing capabilities of the NVIDIA Jetson edge AI platform,” said Murali Gopalakrishna, Head of Product Management for Autonomous Machines and General Manager for Robotics at NVIDIA.
NVIDIA Jetson is the leading AI-at-the-edge computing platform with over half a million developers and a strong partner ecosystem. With pre-trained AI models, developer SDKs and support for cloud-native technologies across the full Jetson lineup, manufacturers of intelligent machines and AI developers can build and deploy high-quality, software-defined features on embedded and edge devices targeting robotics, AIoT, smart cities, healthcare, industrial applications, and more. Cloud-native support helps manufacturers and developers implement frequent improvements, improve accuracy, and use the latest features with Jetson-based edge AI devices.
※SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) is a technology which allows devices to simultaneously self-locate and create maps of their surrounding environment. Kudan owns SLAM technology utilizing both cameras and Lidar sensors, and has successfully combined these to further develop low-latency, high-precision, high-stability technology.
