– Advancing Productization for Real-World Use; XGRIDS’ Latest 3D Scanner “Lixel L3” Also on Display –

Kudan Inc. (hereinafter “Kudan”) is pleased to announce that it will present “PRISM e-Road”, a road maintenance and management support solution being jointly developed with NEXCO-East Engineering Company Limited (hereinafter “NEXCO-East Engineering”), at the two companies’ joint booth at Construction & Architecture DX EXPO 2026, to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 30 (Wed.) to October 2 (Fri.), 2026.
“PRISM e-Road” is a solution being jointly developed by the two companies, combining “Kudan PRISM”, a digital twin platform built on Kudan’s digital twin technology, with the practical expertise in expressway maintenance and management that NEXCO-East Engineering has cultivated. To date, based on the specific challenges and business processes of road maintenance and management work, the two companies have been developing functions for viewing, measuring and managing spatial data, as well as for improving the efficiency of inspection and recording work. Development is now moving beyond individual technical validation and feature development toward productization as software that can be used routinely across multiple sites. Through repeated verification and improvement by on-site personnel, the companies are enhancing its functionality and preparing to launch it as a service. At this exhibition, the two companies will jointly exhibit “PRISM e-Road” as an outcome of their joint development to date.
The booth will feature actual units of the latest 3D scanning solutions, including XGRIDS’ new product “Lixel L3”, just globally released on September 15 (Tue.), 2026, together with “PRISM e-Road”, a road inspection and maintenance support solution that utilizes 3DGS (3D Gaussian Splatting). In line with NEXCO-East Engineering’s initiatives for road maintenance and management, visitors can see the entire workflow—from the capture of high-definition spatial data with Lixel L3 and the generation of 3DGS, to the use of “PRISM e-Road” in maintenance and management work at infrastructure sites such as expressways.
XGRIDS’ new product “Lixel L3” is a handheld 3D scanner that integrates 360-degree LiDAR, high-definition 4K HDR cameras, a built-in RTK module and a 4.3-inch display into a single unit. It efficiently captures high-density spatial data, with a relative accuracy of 5 mm demonstrated in field tests, and the color point cloud can be checked in real time on the onboard display during scanning. Furthermore, from a single scan, it can generate multiple types of 3D data to suit the application—color point clouds, 3D meshes and photorealistic 3DGS—for use in measurement, design and simulation. This enables intuitive, high-definition understanding of site conditions across a wide range of work at construction and building sites, including as-built surveying, construction records, progress checks, facility inspection and robot simulation.

PRISM e-Road not only displays the point clouds and photorealistic 3DGS spaces captured and generated in this way in high definition with smooth, responsive viewing, but also leverages Kudan’s spatial perception technologies and AI-based data management and information-linkage mechanisms. Building on these, Kudan is developing functions such as highly flexible spatial measurement, AI-assisted automation of inspection and recording, time-series comparison of spaces and cloud sharing—connecting spatial data to actual business processes through centralized management of on-site information in 3D space and reduced effort in recording inspections.
Going forward, through its joint development with NEXCO-East Engineering, Kudan will continue to advance the development and productization of “PRISM e-Road”, starting from real on-site challenges. Kudan will also apply the knowledge gained through this initiative to further expand the functionality of “Kudan PRISM”. By evolving the spatial perception technologies it has cultivated into software products that are used continuously in customers’ actual operations, Kudan will contribute to the safe and efficient maintenance of social infrastructure, including roads, as well as to labor savings and operational sophistication in the field.
